The Women of Hope Program recently conducted a Christian Women’s Business Training in Kabusa, a small village in Nigeria. We welcomed a beautiful class of women to the facilities of the local Church of Christ, and they were eager to be educated, ready to receive the good news of how the Lord’s hand works in their personal lives and in business.
Not only did the ladies learn how to make liquid soap, bake cakes and make petroleum jelly, but they also learned how to market their products in ways that benefit themselves and their community. After receiving training and access to revolving loans through the Village Savings and Loan Association, the women of Kabusa are ready to put their hope in motion.
Racheal Ezekiel attended the classes, and considers the opportunity rare and unique. Like many other women in Kabusa, Racheal explains that she has dreamed of opening a business, but did not have the skills to get started, nor the funds to pay for relevant courses. The Women of Hope Program has given her access, tools and encouragement, and in her words, God has given her grace. She reports that the training emphasized and celebrated her role as a wife, in that she feels empowered to contribute to her family’s finances and future.
“They have taught me … how to do business in the Lord, too … and I thank God that I didn’t miss this program today. May God bless Healing Hands International and the Women of Hope Program, in Jesus name, Amen!”
Thank you for the ways you lift women around the world, so that they see their potential, they believe that God has especially created them for goodness and purpose, and they are brave enough to improve their lives.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
