In Kapsabet, Kenya, a heartwarming event recently took place that brought hope and joy to many children. At a local children’s home, Healing Hands International (HHI) organized a Sponsor a Box MAGI distribution, transforming lives and spreading smiles.
HHI shares a history with this community, having previously introduced the Clean Water, Hunger to Harvest, and Women of Hope programs. With the MAGI Project now added to this list, vital needs continue to be met. “When we finish one program, we see another opening for another need. This is a great partnership,” shares one of the local leaders, expressing their enthusiasm for the continued collaboration.
MAGI, which stands for “Making a Godly Impact,” does more than provide material aid. It is a tool for evangelism, spreading the love of Jesus and connecting families with the Church of Christ. Through MAGI, children learn about God’s love and share these stories with their families, spreading joy and hope throughout the community.
Yvonne, a third-grade student, is one of many whose life has been impacted by this distribution. “God is love indeed!” she says with a smile. “I have been carrying my few books in a shopping bag, and they would get wet every time it rained. I never had black school shoes because I thought they were for the rich. My mother couldn’t afford them, but God used the good people at Healing Hands International to bless and change my life.”
Yvonne’s words reflect the transformative power of MAGI. Inspired by the kindness she received, she is determined to work hard in school, dreaming of a day when she can provide for another orphan just as she has been helped. Her promise, “I will be praying for all of you,” highlights the ripple effect of love and generosity that MAGI aims to inspire.
The impact of MAGI in Kapsabet is profound, leaving a lasting imprint on the community and helping children grow with a renewed sense of hope, belonging, and love.
