(Malawi and Zimbabwe)
The drought that began in Southern Africa in 2023 has now persisted for more than 550 days, leaving a devastating impact across several countries, with Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi being the hardest hit. The water shortage has triggered widespread food insecurity, resulting in the loss of crops and livestock. These prolonged dry conditions have intensified the region’s vulnerability, with over 27 million people facing hunger and limited access to clean water.
In response, Healing Hands International has been working tirelessly to alleviate the suffering. Our efforts include drilling water wells, teaching sustainable agricultural practices, and shipping containers of essential food relief to affected communities. Additionally, we have provided funds to purchase food supplies in Zimbabwe and Malawi through our local coordinators, ensuring that those in greatest need receive vital assistance.

Our primary focus areas are Union Island in St. Vincent and Carriacou Island in Grenada. In Union Island, we have finished rebuilding the Union Island Church of Christ building, which serves approximately 3,000 residents. The building, strategically located between Ashton and Clifton, suffered severe damage to its roof, water system, and kitchen. Our repairs help restore the building as a central hub for community recovery and a symbol of Christ’s service. The facility has been able to support multiple recovery organizations, including the Red Cross. We are now focusing on resilience projects such as expanding their rainwater harvesting system, additional floodwater control, and improving the classrooms as multipurpose rooms.
In Carriacou, we successfully delivered water, food, and hygiene items, and finished building 3 houses for the most needy. Local church leaders continue to exemplifying Christian support and teamwork.
HHI has provided ongoing assistance—including food, clothing, water, transportation, fuel, and financial support—to over 1,000 displaced individuals across Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza. Our current focus is on praying for peace in the region and seeking guidance for future actions.

After distributing food, water, tents, and hygiene supplies in Hatay and Adiyaman, HHI’s focus has shifted to building a church in eastern Turkey. This structure will serve multiple purposes: a community center, warehouse, coffee shop, and worship space for a new church plant.
Our current support includes trauma counseling via Yulia Grischuk, sending basic humanitarian aid through our warehouse, logistical support from Western Europe into Ukraine via our Polish partners, SLOT on the Border as well as our strong partnerships with the Ukrainian organizations of Volunteer Brothers and Let’s Love.
