In the heart of the Jigo community of Nigeria, HHI’s Women of Hope program hosted a Christian Business Women’s Conference at the local Church of Christ. Led by HHI Trainer Glory, the event aimed to empower women with practical skills to improve their lives and start their own businesses.
The conference covered liquid soap production, vaseline making, and cake baking—skills chosen to provide sustainable income opportunities. Among the attendees was Mrs. Onyinyechi (pictured top), a 40-year-old mother of three who balances her work with ministry and running a business. “With the state of the country, you can’t rely on just a salary,” Onyinyechi said, excited about the new skills she was learning. “I’m going to start producing my products right away, and I will also teach others.”
The event was a huge success, with women leaving inspired and eager to turn their new knowledge into businesses. Many spoke about their plans to start their own ventures and lift up others in their community. Onyinyechi expressed her gratitude, saying, “This training wouldn’t have been possible without Healing Hands International coming to our community. May God bless them. I’m so thankful, and I’ll be sure to pass on these skills to others.”
The enthusiasm was palpable, and it was clear that this was only the beginning. There is a growing need for more HHI programs in the area, and the women of the Jigo community are ready to embrace the future with hope, faith, and newfound skills.
