In Kabre Kura, Ghana, nearly 100 women gathered for the Christian Business Women’s Conference! This two-day event was organized by Healing Hands International (HHI) and led by Elizabeth, the Women’s Coordinator for Ghana. The training covered modules from the Christian Business Women handouts, combining practical business skills with spiritual teachings, and featured a talk on Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) that captivated the participants.
The enthusiasm of the women was palpable, especially when some proudly showcased liquid soap they made after a previous training. Their joy and determination reflected the impact of combining faith with practical skills.
Lydia’s story touched many hearts: “After I dropped out of school due to pregnancy, my parents washed their hands of me. I had no hope of ever having a change in my life! I ended up working on people’s farms to survive and take care of my child. But then I learned of HHI when they came to distribute school supplies for the MAGI Project. Now, I’m learning how to be Godly in business, keep a positive mindset, and grow a business. I intend to practice all that I’ve learned. God bless our sponsors!”
Dilal, a former farmer, shared, “I was a poor farmer without any skills, but through the kindness of our sponsors and HHI, I now have something I can do to generate income. I’m excited to put what I’ve learned into practice!”
Biyinbore expressed her gratitude, “HHI has brought a ray of hope to us here in Kabre Kura. The teachings will shape our lives as Godly business women, and I’m applying them in my farming business. Thank you to everyone who made this happen.”
This conference demonstrated the transformative power of education, faith, and community support, empowering the women of Kabre Kura to become pioneers of change in their community.
