Loveness, a trainer with HHI Women of Hope, recently hosted a Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) training in Kasungu, Malawi, empowering women to build confidence and pursue small-scale businesses, both individually and in groups.
Participants shared that the training helped them recognize their value in society, shifting from being seen as less important to becoming confident business leaders. They gained essential skills in management, record-keeping, and budgeting, enabling them to better plan their savings and grow their businesses.
One participant, Idah, reflected, “I once thought business was for men, but despite our financial struggles, this training has transformed my life, my family, and my community. I now know women can succeed in business too. Thanks to Healing Hands International for providing the tools to fight poverty.”
With renewed hope and purpose, the women of Kasungu are now not only building better futures for themselves but also becoming leaders in their communities—proving that when women are empowered, entire families and societies thrive.
