The village of Zabugu Yakot in Ghana now has access to clean water, thanks to a newly installed borehole! This has transformed life for the 1,170 residents, including Saude, a young mother. Before the borehole, she struggled with the constant worry of having enough clean water for her baby and household, making daily tasks like cooking and cleaning stressful.
Now, with a reliable supply of safe water, Saude’s life has become much easier. “Having clean water at our doorstep has lifted such a huge burden,” she says, relieved. The borehole has not only simplified her family’s daily routine but also provided peace of mind.
Saude’s gratitude reflects the broader transformation happening in Zabugu Yakot. With clean water now accessible to all, the village is experiencing a profound shift. Children are healthier, families are more productive, and the community is united in its newfound stability. The borehole has not only eased daily burdens but has also sparked a sense of hope for a brighter future.
As Saude puts it, “This water has brought us more than convenience; it’s brought us dignity, peace, and the promise of a better tomorrow.” Thanks to the generosity of donors and the collaborative efforts of HHI, WFWA, and local churches, the people of Zabugu Yakot now have a foundation on which to build a thriving community, one drop at a time.
