When tragedy strikes, Healing Hands International (HHI) is there, providing essential supplies and aid to those most in need. As an organization deeply rooted in disaster relief, we are proud to say that our Disaster Response program has been part of the very foundation of HHI since its inception.
Our program is made possible through the generosity of donors who contribute items such as medical supplies, equipment, and food. These items are distributed to doctors, clinics, hospitals, and communities in underdeveloped regions, where access to life-saving resources is limited. By providing the necessary tools to heal the body, we also open doors to share the love of Jesus Christ with those who are suffering.
One of our ongoing efforts is the relief work following the devastating impact of Hurricane Beryl. The storm caused severe damage to areas in the Caribbean, but thanks to the support of our donors, we’ve been able to make significant strides in recovery.
Union Island, St. Vincent
Our team has successfully completed the rebuilding of the Union Island Church of Christ building, which serves as a central hub for approximately 3,000 residents. Located between Ashton and Clifton, the church suffered severe damage to its roof, water system, and kitchen. The repairs have restored the building to its role as a place of worship, community, and recovery. In fact, it has served as a base for multiple recovery organizations, including the Red Cross. Now, we’re focused on enhancing resilience by expanding the rainwater harvesting system, improving flood water control measures, and converting classrooms into multipurpose rooms to serve the community more effectively.
Carriacou Island, Grenada
In Carriacou, we’ve provided critical supplies such as water, food, and hygiene items to the local population. Additionally, we’ve completed the construction of three homes for the most vulnerable families, offering them shelter and a sense of stability in the aftermath of the storm. Local church leaders continue to demonstrate incredible Christian support and collaboration, providing hope and encouragement to their neighbors.
As we continue our disaster response efforts, we are grateful for the support of our donors and partners. Your contributions are making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by disasters, and we are eager to keep you updated on our progress.
