MAGI Boxes and the Gospel in the Dominican Republic

January 29, 2025

The MAGI Project brings hope and healing to children living in poverty. It’s more than just a gift—it’s a powerful tool to share God’s love and transform communities.

For many families, the MAGI box represents more than toys and school supplies; it’s a tangible symbol of God’s care and a chance to encounter His love. Each gift, packed with essential items like toothpaste, notebooks, and even small toys, meets the immediate physical needs of children living in the most desperate conditions. But the impact doesn’t stop there. These boxes often become a bridge, helping to connect families to the gospel and showing them that God sees their struggles.

Joaquín Reyes Parra, a local leader in the Dominican Republic, has witnessed the transformation firsthand. He shares, “Through the MAGI Project, we have seen thousands of families touched by God’s love. For many, receiving a gift box is their first step toward Christ.” He goes on to highlight the importance of providing basic necessities to children in need—items that many of us take for granted, like school supplies and personal hygiene products.

The MAGI Project is not only a spiritual blessing but also an economic one. By helping children and their families, the project has a ripple effect on the local economy. Families are able to send their children to school, children can focus on learning instead of worrying about their next meal, and communities begin to thrive.

For Healing Hands International, the MAGI Project is a labor of love. Through the generosity of supporters, volunteers can gather to pack and distribute these boxes, making a real and lasting difference. Joaquin concludes, “Thanks to your love and kindness, we are able to reach more families, share the message of Jesus, and bring hope to those who need it most. The Lord will reward your great heart.”
