In the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, the primary focus areas for HHI’s Disaster Response program are Union Island in St. Vincent and Carriacou Island in Grenada. On Union Island, we are dedicated to rebuilding the Union Island Church of Christ, which serves approximately 3,000 residents. The building, situated strategically between Ashton and Clifton, sustained significant damage to its roof, water system, and kitchen. Our repairs aim to restore it as a central hub for community recovery and a symbol of Christ’s service. Once completed, the facility will also support various recovery organizations, including the Red Cross.
In Carriacou, we have successfully distributed water, food, and hygiene items and are currently working to construct three homes for those in greatest need. Local church leaders are demonstrating remarkable Christian support and teamwork. Additionally, we are assessing needs in Jamaica and will provide updates as they become available.
