In the village of Chipembere there was a primary school struggling to have enough supplies for the students. Many times essential supplies needed to learn such as pencil and paper were absent from the learning environment. Parents often were choosing to pay for the supplies or other necessities such as food and farm supplies. This constant dilemma in families’ lives led to a high dropout rate among the students in primary school.
Healing Hands International had the opportunity to deliver essential school supplies for 100 students in the primary school. With newfound access to these much needed supplies, the school’s dropout rate has dropped drastically. This drop will only further solve the problem of economic insecurity in the area. The encouraging gift freed up parents’ income so they could buy more food and farming supplies they needed to provide for their families.
These gifts did not just have an impact on the physical lives of those involved. These backpacks full of blessings also served as a way to further the kingdom of God. Many families who were impacted by this act of generosity devoted themselves to the message of Christ and joined the local church.
