Clean water is the cornerstone of any village. When a village cannot easily access clean water it causes a multitude of problems to arise. With the help of World Bible School and Healing Hands International, l was able to provide fresh, easily accessible water for the village or Arda.
Previously the government had attempted to provide the village of Arda with water by means of water tanks and diesel pumps. While these attempts had helped for some time, the village was in need of a permanent solution. HHI, alongside WBS were able to drill a well to provide Arda with their greatest need.
Talking with Sophia Mhlanga who represents the women in the community who are most directly impacted.The newfound access to water has supplied them with clean water for laundry, cooking, and even bathing. Sophia said the gift of water has helped end a multitude of problems within the community. The impact this water has had on the community will affect them both socially and economically.
HHI is excited to see how this community will thrive now that water has been provided. With this new well women are able to spend more time at home with their families instead of walking to provide water for their families. We hope to continue our great partnership with the people of Arda in future projects.
